Wrath is a stage that all dark-mages are susceptible to. If one loses too much blood or energy, the stage kicks in, and the mage will take any life in its path to survive. Typically lasting no more than ten devastating minutes, at the end, the subject will either drop down unconscious and wake up later as he was before, or enter Pardon, a conscious, painless stage said to be the Gods' reprieve from the sins the mage has just committed before his own soul swallows him.
The six-pointed star represents Imra, the Alisian Dark Goddess, patroness of wrath and war. The concentric circles represent Rathir, the Light God, patron of forgiveness and pity. Together, the symbols form the six-spoked wheel, the unifying symbol of Alisian culture, representative of man, worldly hardship, and strength.
Fast forward eight hundred years, no more dark-mages, but Alisian society has turned into a world of mobsters, and pride in one's history is strong as ever. The design is, in theory, something one would tattoo on their back.
If you'd like an iron-on version (I have no life and am going ot put one on my messenger bag), please send me a Note and $10 USD (+$2 shipping if international). Don't take and use as a tattoo. That would be creepy.
EDIT: Sorry for makign this appear in your inbox so many times, but I've been trying to touch up the faces in Photoshop.
EDIT II: Heavily inspired by *gottschalk whose name I just learned.
Whoa this is insane. I keep on going from left to right looking at the differences and similarities. Thats crazy! Your attention to detail never fails to amuse me!
I came up w/ the symbolism on the subway home from school, lol. It used to be a 4-pointed star and a single circle (check out the previous pics with Riv's tattoo), but then I was like "duhr, wheel!"

I just have no appropriate words to describe my love for this.
The composition, the contrast in the shading and the two sides. The details and symbolism.
Ohmy.
+ I so want an iron on. But have nothing to put it on. 'cause I'm just so gawthic that all I own is black @__@;
Are you doing prints of this at any stage?
DX I thought I also had for-dark-fabric iron ons... but it looks like I dont - sorry! (dark ones don't stick as well, by the by). (God, it's so dissappointing when you open a package and find out there's a whole lot of NOTHING inside it)
But yes, there will be a print of this coming out eventually - or I could just make one for you and ship it to you. $8 USD + $2 USD cuz you live in Australia.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
