It's about time I got off my ass and announced the winners of my contest. Again, thank you everyone for participating. As for judging criteria, I talked it over with ~kheleksul and it became half artistic merit and half character portrayal. I also jacked up the prizes a little. And now, without further ado...

had an amazing armor design! I was blown away by how fitting it was, and I loved the color scheme. I liked how you took the more earthy tones and aspect of his personality into consideration. I like the chestplate and huge pauldrons a lot.

did a lot of research, and I'm always willing to applaud that. The zweihander is such a fitting sword for him. (Btw the way, he's 6'2".) Loves the frills you've added to the costume, and yes - he'd totally be up in the front line if it meant more fun and more money.


- one, I'm sorry I didn't stop by at Otakon, argh. I was like, chained to my table because there were so many of us leaving all the time. But I love what you did to Bohren's coat in this - he looks like he belongs in such a futuristic setting- probably doing something illegal, haha.

- your image has wonderful composition. You made him look so regal! As for the costume, I liked the straps and the cape design (the chain claps is awesome). I really like that belt, but again - your perspective and lighting really tied the piece together. It wasn't just a character design.

My, my, ! Including two characters? And a background? I was really impressed. All the detail and thought you put into the costuming shows - they really do match, haha. I loved all the detailing you did on the outfits - like the feather designs on the shoulderplates and embroidery. You must have put so much time into this. Thank you so much!

- when I saw this piece first, I was like "That is totally my character." It's simple, and the details are subtle. The essential elements were kept - feathers, channeling beads - but more than kept, worked into the actual drawing and not left as afterthoughts. I really like the sword design as well. The pose helps engage the viewer, too. Really nice painting job as well - I like the border tons. His face is exactly as I envisioned it.

- you are an amazing painter, but I'm sure you know that. The quality of the reflectivity on the metal and the plate design is amazing. I love the layering, and the leg armor really strikes me as fitting. I love all the really subtle details, too. You can really imagine them as being part of the metal. I really just love the cut of the leather top, and the sword design is also fitting. Haha, this is kind of random, but the blue back lighting gives the armor a real kick.
